Goodbye, Master!

Our friend, Mitch and his wife are adventuring to Oregon and leaving us for awhile :( Trevor met him through Stoke Swap, an anti-creepy-Craigslist way of meeting surfers, trading and buying surfboards all in one place in front of their board room (great idea!!). After talking with him and the guys, Trevor decided he would shape a board with their help (his 25th birthday gift)! Trevor was in pure bliss. It is my opinion that the weeks it took to build 2 surfboards under the eye and care of Mitch, Trevor was at his happiest. Haha, I don’t mind believing that either because the man deserves be selfish when pursuing his favorite hobby with a couple of his favorite guys!

A look back on T’s favorite memories in Hawaii with The Blue Room!!

I’ve never seen him smile THIS big!!

His first! In memory of his Uncle Rich who was Captain of Anaheim’s HAZMAT unit and was a self-employed contractor who passed away from prostate cancer in 2012 (that’s why Trevor’s a big supporter of Movember, hence the mustache).

So a BIG thank you to The Blue Room, the guys, and especially, Mitch for introducing the art of shaping your own board! And enjoy your new adventure!

KT Hill, Blue Room, and Pineapples

Friday I had an interview with the Windward School District. I’ve been carpooling with a friend and didn’t want to impede anymore than I already have so, I rented a car :) It was nice to drive around in a Jetta.

T and I turned in the car Saturday afternoon and stayed on base to run jog KT Hill.

Every time I took a picture, T made me do 20 lunges.

We made it! What a workout! Burpees, abs, flutter kicks, star jumps..

We missed Stoke Swap but we still wanted to stop by the Blue Room to say hi to everyone!

We had a good time catching up with the guys. Mitch gave me 2 boards! To paint! I’ll take pictures when I decide what I want to paint. Thanks again, Mitch! On our way home from the Blue Room, we stopped by Walmart to look at bikes. But I made my way to the garden section and found this adorable pineapple plant!

We bought it! Since Lola Love (my pup) is not out here yet and T and I aren’t having kids any time soon, this is our baby. Nemo (he had a bent leaf).

Also happy one year, blog! It’s been fun!

An awesome day for both of us!

T waxed his board and was ready to surf it at Tonggs on Saturday afternoon.

The board strap slipped off T’s new board. We pulled into a scenic overlook.

I asked T if he wanted me to take the GoPro out. Unfortunately it had zero battery life.

T had a great time out in the water. Said the board was super fast and couldn’t wait to take it out more often!

I kicked my fin towards the end of our surf sesh.

Thankfully, T had his bed bag in the back seat.

And here’s the best part (for me): We went to Clark Little’s 2nd Anniversary Gallery event on the North Shore. He was having a silent auction for 10 GoPro canvases signed by Kelly Slater. And I had a premonition that he’d be there.. And.. HE WAS! AND I met Clark Little! I bought one of his Hurley “S)(OOTS” shirts. He’s a totally cool guy! Super friendly, super talkative. We (I TOTALLY) had a great time!!
