A Vacation To Remember

One of the last conversations Trevor got to have with his Uncle was regarding a future family vacation to Hawaii. Unfortunately, he passed away before they were able to plan the trip. Thanks to his Aunt Sheri, Trevor will forever have the memory of this weekend dedicated to his Uncle.
Throughout the weekend, Trevor and his family were thinking about friends and family whose lives were touched by Rich. Most of all, Tyler and Kayla, who couldn’t make it due to training requirements.

For those who could not be there, here’s a short video of our weekend.

(sorry for the thumbnail, it won’t let me modify it :/)

Ohana

Sunday morning, Trevor and I (tried) to surf out in front of the Marriott. There were little to no waves, but we still made the best of it.

We met up with Aunt Sheri, Jeannie, Cory, and Danielle for the hotel buffet. We enjoyed watching the birds chow down at a neighboring table.

With the whole island to consider, Trevor and his aunt decided on a place to spread Rich’s ashes – the same hike my family took on our last day in Maui. The view is amazing, the ocean is bright blue, and the area is secluded.

Spreading Rich’s ashes. After, a large wave crashed along the rocks and created a beautiful and bright rainbow.

Trevor and Cory spent a few minutes alone.

A few tears were shed. We wanted to take a photo with a large wave spraying behind us. We had NO idea one of the LARGEST wave was going to soak us!

Trevor and I are grateful to have this spot as a physical remembrance that we can return to while we’re living in Hawaii. Next time, Trevor and I will bring something to engrave his initials into the surrounding lava rock.

We finished our hike near Napili Bay and enjoyed drinks at the Sea House.

Sunday night, we had our last dinner together at Kimo’s in Lahaina. We said our goodbyes and left for the airport around 7:00p.

Aunt Sheri, we cannot thank you enough for all that you did. We were so happy to be apart of this special weekend. Thank you Jeannie, Cory, and Danielle. We can’t wait to spend Christmas with you. THANK YOU, AGAIN. We love you.

Trevor caught a ton, I caught a few. For dinner we went to the hotel’s restaurant, Japengo. We had rolls and sake. It was delicious.
