This year’s pumpkins were phenomenal compared to last year’s (in which we didn’t carve pumpkins…). We gutted them on Sunday.
AND THEN Trevor and I both broke the little pumpkin carving knives and I gave up on my “No Bad Days” palm tree jack-o-lantern.
Trevor on the other hand was a connoisseur with the x-acto knife. His tiki guy came out perfect!
I was a little jealous… Oh, well. I painted a (semi) chevron pumpkin. This holiday has a way with sneaking up on us… Hence, the second part of this blog, our costumes. A month ago while I was searching Pinterest, I found a photo of some Disney Princesses.. but as hipsters. So, the night before, we decided to head to Ala Moana to see if we could pull this off.
And I think we did!
We lagged again this year. Even though China Town was evacuated Saturday night due to the tsunami warning AND the fact that Halloween landed on a Wednesday, we managed to make it out of the house at least. I plan on spending ONE Halloween in China Town… And I’ve got 3 more years to make it happen…
