Byodo-In Temple

T and I visited the Byodo-In Temple over the weekend. I absolutely loved it. Even though Hawaii is furthest from the “hustle and bustle” mentality, I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders when we arrived – it was that peaceful. I definitely see myself meditating here.

The temple was built in 1968 as a memorial to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii.

You can feed the koi. They go nuts for fish food. Fun fact – koi fish can live to be 100 years old.

We met a super friendly guy who offered to take our picture. Talked to us for awhile. Thanked T for his service in the military. Gotta love Hawaii!!

That’s amazing! That place looks completely unreal. Just looking at it gives me peaces and tranquilities.
