Don’t Bring Pineapples To Mexico

T and I left for HNL around 7:30p on Sunday night. Our flight out was at 9:50p. Thankfully, we both slept through that 5 hour flight.

We landed at LAX around 5:30a and waited til 10:00a to leave for Mexico. We got in around 1:30p.

*We bought pineapples at HNL to bring to Aunt Suzie and Uncle Ian. The Dole box was stamped and we were permitted onto the plane leaving LAX with fruit. We went through Mexico’s security and were immediately asked to step aside. I tried hiding the box of pineapples behind our luggage but was quickly outed by T. After being discovered, we were instructed to go to the next table inspection. There we were told that despite our “stamp of approval” and my receipt from Hawaii, I did not have the proper paperwork to bring fruit into the country. Despite the argument I had with them, I gave up the sweet smelling pineapples. I thanked them anyways and left with only reimbursement papers.

My grandpa picked us up and we head out for San Jose del Cabo, Casa Tortuga.

Upon arriving, we set our things down and enjoyed our first beer of the vacation while admiring the view.
