Mud. Sweat. Beer.

Saturday morning started with a bang on the door. Trevor and I accidently slept in and Spanish Mike was ready to get started (war paint, etc.). Earlier that week, Trevor and I went to a costume store. Originally our idea was to do something similar to Braveheart. But then I saw mustaches. I am kicking myself now for not wearing one. We bought face paint as well. And a viking hat. I don’t know what we were BUT it worked out.

Another song to symbolize the rest of our day.

We were a little late. Missed our 8:30 am wave. But it was okay. We squeezed in to the 9:00 am wave with time to register and stretch.

Our first of many obstacles.

I thought rolling would be the best way to get around this obstacle.

At the end of the run they actually roped off the side of the lake for us to wade through. Pretty cool!

And here’s the fire! I’m pretty bummed because Trevor flipped over it but the GoPro didn’t catch it. I guess 3 second intervals are too slow…

Finally… the mud!

We. Are. Warriors!

The Makahiki Challenge provided a water truck. The Warrior Dash provided us with their lake… to wash off…

So we did.

We had such a great time. We changed into our complimentary shirts, enjoyed a beer, and hung out.

When Trevor gets excited I think he gets a little forgetful. After we cleaned up and took off, we returned to not only an unlocked truck BUT the driver’s door left open. Silly Trevor. No one stole anything so we’re all good :)

El Mariachi is ALWAYS a must!

Later that evening we enjoyed a triple date with the Santos and Peyton family. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and MEAT at The New Gyu Kaku at the Windward Mall. It was absolutely delicious. And my favorite part: they had s’mores for dessert! Trevor then told me he had never had one. So we recorded it :)
